about
Complicated Animals’ brand new Single “Show Me” is an 80s-inspired, synth-based dream.
When they were creating their brand new Single “Show Me”, Complicated Animals’ Monica da Silva and Chad Alger, were greatly inspired by the music of the 80s, a love for lush dreamy pop songs, and all things David Lynch.
“Show Me is one of those songs that just came out quickly and easily,” says da Silva. “I’d had the melody and the lyrics (Show me that you want me) stuck in my head for a few days. That really struck me as an intense, sexy idea for a song. Chad dug an old synthesizer we had out of the closet. We started stacking sounds and layering vocals. Virtually all of the sounds in the track were created using the same synth.”
Complicated Animals released their debut EP “In This Game” in 2015. The EP featured songs in English and Portuguese. It was featured on Pop Matters and NPR. Stay tuned for more tracks from Complicated Animals in 2018. If you’re interested in listening to more music from da Silva and Alger, check out their first collaborative effort under Monica da Silva’s name, “Brasilissima”.
lyrics
Show Me Lyrics:
Seems like we're going through the motions, oh, oh
You aren't crossing any oceans, no, no
Not for me
No
Let’s stop what we're doing
Let your face face mine
Let's stop what we're doing
Let your face face mine
Let your face face mine
Show me that you want me
You're just all talk, and not much action, oh, oh
You won't be getting a reaction, no, no
Not this way
No
Let's stop what we're doing
Let your face face mine
Let's stop what we're doing
Let your face face mine
Let your face face mine
Show me that you want me
